The Katana 50 also excels for home playing, with a uniquely efficient design and innovative Power Control that provides inspiring sound and response at low volumes, which is great for throttling back the volume at small stages and while playing at home, and also includes a Standby setting that mutes the sound for switching instruments or taking breaks. In Acoustic mode this amp sounds great with violins, violas and - thanks to a 12-inch speaker-cellos, providing a balanced, rich tone that can be easily customized with 3-band EQ controls. The Boss Katana-50 MkII is an electric guitar amp, however, among its five amp voicings is a special Acoustic setting that allows it to sound warm and inviting when used with piezo pickup-powered instruments, such as electric bowed string instruments.
